The house dates back to 1729 and was built by Captain Thomas Skipton, whose family settled here from England in the 17th Century. Beech Hill's unique architecture is fascinating, influenced by French and Italian designs. Its attractive bow windows, distinctive porch and beautifully landscaped gardens give Beech Hill a sylvan look.
Throughout its history Beech Hill has played host to a variety of interesting guests from Presidents to Princes and during World War Two several companies of US Marines including those from the Boston reserves, were headquartered at Beech Hill.
Following careful restoration Beech Hill continues in its tradition of hospitality offering four-star luxury and a gentle pace of life within graceful surroundings. The hotel is as attractive inside as it is outside with stylish lounges of elaborate plasterwork in the ceilings and elegant period furnishings.
Each of the bedrooms are tastefully decorated and individually furnished in the typically chintzy, cosy country house style and each is fully equipped with all the usual essentials.
Dining at Beech Hill is a true gourmet experience and the Ardmore Restaurant has gained a reputation for culinary excellence, with its use of fresh local produce from game and locally caught Salmon and trout to home-grown vegetables offering some of the best tastes of Ulster.
