Throughout the centuries Ballynahinch Castle has been intertwined with some of the most illustrious characters in Connemara, from the ferocious "O'Flahertys" and the Pirate Queen of Connaught Grace O'Malley, to "Humanity Dick Martin" and the "Indian Prince of Cricketers" His Highness the Maharajah Ranjitsinji. Weaving through some spectacular riverside scenery, the road to Ballynahinch is impressive enough, before bringing you to the magnificent 18th Century castle nestled on the shores of the river within densely wooded grounds.
