After breakfast, it’s time for another fantastic Carol Feller Knitting class! Rest down the needles for lunch and then bring them along to our afternoon location – how cool would it be to have a photo of you knitting in Montserrat?! Montserrat is a spectacularly beautiful Benedictine monk mountain retreat North West of Barcelona city. Not only is Montserrat Monastery of significant religious importance but the natural beauty surrounding the monastery is simply breathtaking.. Many come just to see the statue of the Black Madonna, patron saint of Catalonia. The 12th-century figure is enthroned above the high altar in the monastery's basilica. In her honor, around 50 choirboys of the "Escolania de Montserrat" of the monastery's boarding school sing church songs - Salve Regina and Virolai - every day.
In the Montserrat Monastery Museum you can see works by important artists such as Dalí, El Greco, Monet and Giordano. You will also find archaeological and liturgical exhibits, perhaps to inspire your next knitwear design! Return to your hotel for dinner and an evening of relaxation.
Overnight in Seventy Barcelona – Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner included.
After breakfast we take a guided tour of the most recognisable of all Barcelona’s architecture. La Sagrada Família is one of Gaudí's most famous works in Barcelona. It's a giant Basilica that has been under construction since 1882 (yes you read that correctly!) and it's not expected to be completed for some time yet. Gaudí played an active role in directing the construction of the Sagrada Família until his death in 1926. He would often request that work be modified and adjusted until it was exactly what he had in mind. However today, because of the nature of the existing designs, his work is partly open to interpretation. A piece of living history and you will be a part of it! This afternoon, discover the best of Barcelona, touring at your own pace on the official sightseeing bus. Park Güell, La Pedrera, Camp Nou, La Rambla, Montjuïc, the list goes on! Meet up with your friends at the Chocolate Museum, before popping next door for Cava and Yarn Tasting at the fabulous All You Knit Is Love! Finish off with a fantastic night of food, music and dance!
Tablao Flamenco Cordobes Barcelona is considered the main historical tablao of Barcelona. It was founded in 1970 under the management of a family of artists and has brought flamenco legendary artists to Barcelona ever since, becoming a renowned experience in the flamenco world without losing an ounce of authenticity, always faithful to its historical legacy as a tablao flamenco. All this while enjoying the native flavour of Barcelona with a delightful farewell dinner!
