Experience the Blasket Islands first hand with the Blasket Islands Adventure Trip - a two and a half hour boat trip around the nine islands.
The Blasket Islands, the most westerly land in Europe, lie two miles beyond the west tip of the Dingle Peninsula . These islands, although now deserted, were inhabited for thousands of years. Life on the Blasket Islands was characterised by hardship, however no similar sized community has produced such a wealth of great literature. The Blaskets are now inhabited by an incredible number of breeding seabirds, the surrounding seas are home to Dolphins, a herd of red deer live on Inisvickilaun and Inis na Bro's sheer cliffs are alive with the nesting colonies of Puffins. These islands are remote, unspoilt, unpolluted ...truly spectacular. The great humps of red sandstone, sprawled in the Atlantic, renders amazement as one travels around Slea Head to be confronted by their splendour.
You will travel in a fully licensed boat, led by an experienced and informative guide. The boat carries full fire fighting equipment, liferafts, lifejackets, VHF Radio, GPS Navigator and for your comfort light refreshments are provided. Bring warm clothes, rain gear and, if you are susceptible to motion sickness, take a sea-sickness tablet one hour before departure.
