Between Christmas and New Year, from the 26th - 29th December, two of Ireland's most prestigious race meets are held; the Leopardstown Christmas Racing Festival and the Guinness Christmas Racing Festival in Limerick.
Leopardstown is situated about 5 miles outside of Dublin and attracts around 64,000 people over the four days, its most popular day being its opening on St Stephens' Day.
The Guinness Christmas Racing Festival is held in Limerick and hosts four fine days of racing and events attracting huge crowds each year.
Both events are a great craic! A great way to spend the lull between Christmas and New Year and a great excuse to get away from the kids!
