(Just outside the village of Dromahair-only minutes away from Abbey Manor-is O'Rourke's Table, named for the famous Irish chieftain of Briefne. From O'Rourke's Table are excellent views of picturesque Castlegal Mountains, Lough Gill, and the Lake Isle of Innisfree).
Abbey Manor, constructed in the 19th century, is full of rich history and country charm. The old stone building has been completely restored, its unique Victorian Conservatory replaced in every detail. The entire ground floor reflects the elegance of a fine Victorian Manor and is furnished with the finest antiques of that era. Within Abbey Manor are two fine dining suites: Bonet River Restaurant and Red Hanrahan's Bar, both furnished with fine Victorian antiques and impressive oak panelling. The Bar menu offers a selection of starters and main course meals and even a specials children's menu that includes soup, burgers and chips, chicken nuggets, and desserts. The restaurant serves food all day with offerings from soups, sandwiches and salads to full three-course dinners with main meals consisting of Roast Sirloin of Beef with Peppersauce, Meat Loaf and Gravy, Chicken Korma with Rice, Vegetable Stir Fry or Fried Cod. A full dessert menu is available, as well as a choice of grilled sandwiches and homemade soups.
Dining at Abbey Manor, whether in Red Hanrahan's Bar or Bonet River Restaurant combines Victorian elegance with contemporary charm. An additional treat is a meal in the elegant formal gardens or the modern glass-enclosed courtyard.
